Lisa Solberg
Lisa Solberg is not your usual LA suspect. She prefers walking to driving her car and praises the bus for crosstown travel. She is neither lonely nor glamorous. She possesses a true dual nature. Since moving from her hometown of Chicago four years ago, she resides in downtown Los Angeles, the heart of the city’s frontier and the contemporary art world at large, for that matter.
A vigorous and fluid painter, Solberg has exhibited widely in the US with solo and group shows from Los Angeles to New York. The work’s atmospheric appearance and painterly facture continually question the very nature of painting, regardless of whether her process leads to abstraction or figuration.
Lisa holds a BFA from University of Colorado, Boulder.
